Our Design Process
Our process for bringing your architectural vision to life. It all starts with our first site visit and meeting. From there we begin our work, carefully crafting your vision, from sketches, to prints, to the final product.
How it Works
We begin our project journey with our first site visit, introducing ourselves as well as learning about your project goals. For some it's the creation of an heirloom quality piece of furniture; crafted to last for generations to come. For other's it may be an entire millwork package for their dream home, from the kitchen down to the custom baseboard moldings running throughout the home. No matter what, we can create it and it all starts with our first visit.
Our Initial Site Visit
Once we have learned your needs and project goals we begin our design work. We take our field dimensions and begin the process of tailoring your vision, bringing your imagination to life.
We do this with a combination of different software, primarily using Sketchup Pro to create a 3D representation of your project. We go through multiple iterations of this, working with you, your contractor of whomever else might be involved to continuously refine the design until it meets both your standards and ours.
Our Design Work Begins
Once we have finalized our design we begin our next phase. The crafting of your project.
We craft each of our projects with care and meticulous attention to detail. We will be in touch during the project, communicating about build status as well as anything that requires client or architect attention. We encourage clients to be involved with the process, dropping in on occasion to check out your build and how we are progressing though it.

Our Design Experience
We take great care in our design work; treating it with the same level of care we bring to our woodworking. A good design means the start of a good project as far as we are concerned and it is a pleasure for us to be able to not only build a project, but design it as well. Nate and Dean have a number of years under their collective belts dealing with design work.
Dean learning what good design was building kitchens with his father growing up, but also from many years of working alongside architects and designers, seeing what works, what doesn't, and how to bring any design he is presented with to the next level. Nate has years design work under his belt as well. Always having an interest in designing things,
Nate started taking design classes in middle school, starting to use SketchUp in 2006 when it was acquired from Google. He would go on to teach design classes in a T.A. capacity at Manchester Essex High School. Upon graduating he continued to take design classes in college, further honing his skill and learning a number of other design software along the way. As he advanced his woodworking career, Nate would further his design skills, working with designers and other builders. Nate enjoys designing and building furniture the most, to the point of refusing to purchase any furniture for himself, building every piece he owns himself minus one gifted armchair.
