Consult

Oftentimes we are brought onto the job by either the client themselves or through the contractor the client is working with. Our first step in our relationship is the consult. We want to get to know you as well as your needs so that we can figure out how best to serve you.

02
Design

We believe that a collaborative design process is the best way to ensure the client gets exactly what they desire. We will work with all parties involved in the project to design the perfect product that fulfills every one of the client’s wishes.

03
Build

Using a combination of traditional and modern techniques, we build cabinets and furniture that are meant to last. We’ve done numerous kitchens over the years that look like the day that they were installed over fifteen years later.

04
Install

While installing we will treat your home with the utmost respect. Handling delivery, install, and final touch-ups carefully and professionally to ensure not only the best product possible, but also the best experience possible.

Building Custom Cabinetry for More than 30 Years.

Dean is a third generation woodworker who learned his trade from his father, the late Alfred “Mickey” Richards. Dean would often work with his father on various projects both for themselves and for others, eventually going on to start Dean W. Richards Custom Woodworking in 1988. Since then Dean has been producing the best cabinetry, millwork, and furniture to be found on the North Shore, working with a number of great customers and architects over the years to produce only the highest quality work.

Dean W. Richards Custom Woodworking has remained a family business for years, with Dean working on and off with his brother Dana for years and eventually training his oldest son, Nathan as a woodworker as well.

Dean W. Richards
Dean W. Richards
A third generation woodworker, Dean grew up in the trades, helping his father; Alfred, commonly called Mickey,  with various projects in their small shop in the backyard or milling wood for projects in their basement shop. Some of Dean’s earliest memories are of him building cabinets and furniture with his father. They planned on starting a woodworking business together once Dean graduated from high-school and his Father retired, unfortunately Mickey passed away before they could accomplish that goal. Regardless Dean went forward with it, and started his business thirty two years ago.
